Configure Unified Permissions

Workspace Owners can go to Manage > Workspace Settings > Advanced Settings > Configure Unified Permissions to set authorized objects for resources that have custom operation permissions enabled.

Resources that support unified authorization include:

  • Monitors;
  • Dashboards;
  • Security Rules;
  • Alert Policies;
  • Notification Targets;
  • Reports;
  • External Data Sources.

Configure Permissions

  1. Click Configure.
  2. Under the corresponding resource, select administrators, roles, or workspace members. Supports multiple selection and search.
  3. Click Save.

After saving, authorized objects can operate on resources of this type that have custom operation permissions enabled, without needing to be added individually to the custom permission objects of each resource. Dashboard authorization includes both view and operation permissions.

Note
  • Only Workspace Owners can view and modify unified permission configurations.
  • This configuration does not enable custom operation permissions for resources, nor does it overwrite the resource’s original custom permission objects.
  • Members who are not covered by unified authorization are still evaluated based on the resource’s own custom operation permissions.
  • When a resource does not have custom operation permissions enabled, the default role permissions of the feature are used for evaluation.
