Cloud Billing

TrueWatch Cloud Billing is a one-stop cloud cost management solution that helps enterprises achieve refined cloud resource management and cost optimization through data collection, multi-dimensional spending analysis, budget control, and smart monitoring.

Architecture

Cloud Billing consists of the following core modules:

Overview Core entry point for cloud cost management, integrating spending analysis and budget analysis, providing top-level KPIs and risk identification
Budget Set consumption budget caps and alert thresholds to achieve proactive cost control
Smart Monitoring Automatically detects billing anomalies based on algorithms and provides timely warnings of potential risks

Prerequisites

Before using Cloud Billing, enable the billing collectors of the corresponding cloud providers through DataFlux Func to ensure data is reported properly:

Quick Start

  1. Ingest Data: Go to DataFlux Func and enable the collectors for the corresponding cloud providers
  2. Review Costs: Go to the Overview page to understand the overall spending posture through the top KPIs and spending analysis
  3. Set Budgets: Create budget rules in Budget Management, configure threshold alerts, and achieve proactive cost control
  4. Drill Down: Use the Cloud Billing Explorer for multi-dimensional drill-down analysis
  5. Monitor Anomalies: Enable Cloud Billing Smart Monitoring to automatically detect billing cost anomalies

Module Overview

Explorer

Provides convenient browsing and filtering of billing details, supporting filtering by cloud provider, product, region, instance, and other dimensions, with the ability to navigate to the Explorer for drill-down analysis.

Overview

Overview is the core entry point for cloud cost management, integrating two perspectives: Spending Analysis and Budget Analysis:

  • Top KPIs: Displays six core metrics including account costs, discount amounts, cash/credit/voucher payments, and budget status
  • Spending Analysis: Understand spending composition and trends through multi-dimensional charts such as time series, donut, and ranking charts
  • Budget Analysis: Quickly identify budget risks, view usage rankings, and recent alerts

Budget

Set monthly/quarterly/annual budget caps for cloud resource consumption, with management across five dimensions: global, product, cloud account, region, and cloud provider. When consumption reaches preset thresholds (such as 80% for warning and 100% for overspend), alert notifications are triggered automatically to achieve proactive cost control.

Cloud Billing Smart Monitoring

Automatically detects billing cost anomalies across different cloud provider accounts using intelligent algorithms and sends timely warnings, effectively avoiding unnecessary expenses. For details, see Cloud Billing Smart Detection.
